Apache / Comanche

The two sculptural objects Comanche and Apache combine the shape of American attack helicopters with a bird-like coat of feathers, creating a strange hybrid between animal and a machine. They can be read full of irony, mirroring the way American army has used the names of native tribes in the same way the the members of these tribes took on the names of animal, believing that they would thus also take on their strength. The objects refer at the same time to a fetish-like hunting (or war) trophies and to camouflage.
