Even before the interest of the art world turned to megacities, Balthasar Burkhard became interested in the world's major metropolises in the 1990s. And he did so in the tradition of his father, who was a pilot in the Swiss Air Force, from a bird's eye view: from a plane. In this way, he photographed Mexico City, Los Angeles, Tokyo, London and Paris.
