The installation presents Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights “Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state. Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country”, engraved in soap. The ephemeral and consumable aspect of the work contrasts with the absolute nature of laws. Alluding to the expression “to wash one’s hands of something”, it places the viewer in a position of responsibility.
