One and One
One and One
The drawings of the series are based on a geometric ornament, which has been used since the 10th century in the oriental region as a building plan for Muqarnas. They consist of 4 different triangles repeated in different combinations. All triangles have a common side length, which is why they can be combined endlessly and form different patterns each time. The drawings, which extend from a central point into a potentially infinite space, are always sections of an infinity and are limited only by the edges of the paper. The formulas and numbers written along the lines indicate the line lengths in relation to the triangles and its angles. Drawing becomes a meditative practice in which rhythm, repetition and the attempt to understand its mathematical rules generate and additional aesthetic level.
