In her current work, Samia allows impulse to outweigh deliberation. She focuses on behavior of objects; their shape, distribution and movement, to distinguish them and reveal their history. Samia also creates groupings that play with the way our eyes move; either grabbing or scattering our attention. She builds on traditional twentieth century abstraction, by using methods of painting that bring consciousness to our visual surroundings.
